These are the broadcast notes from the April 7, 2008 podcast with Julie Brannaugh.
She talked about the path to getting published and how attending conferences can help authors network and ultimately get published. National is a huge event and the 2008 conference will be my first one --so I asked her for some tips for first timers.
Julie suggested to wear comfortable shoes, prepare your pitch, and expect sleep deprivation. Also, many of the speakers give permission for their workshop to be recorded, so if you're debating between two workshops in the same time slot, check to see if one is being recorded. If so, you can attend the non-recorded workshop and buy the DVD to hear the other!
