Write at Sea with Dianna Love & Mary Buckham

Posted by: Julia Hunter on 7/7/2009

Update on July 23, 2009: Dianna Love doesn’t want to get left behind – SHE’S COMING TOO!!!

I admit this whole endeavor started because I’ve been pouting ever since I missed Mary Buckham’s plotting retreat last year in Tacoma.  After perusing her website, it didn’t look like she’s planning to have one any time soon.  In fact her Break into Fiction website says that she can’t support “open-seating” retreats at this time due to her scheduled commitments.  That means there won’t be a retreat scheduled that anyone can just sign up for and attend.  Hmmm….

Skip to the idea that I’ve only seen a writers cruise on the east coast and always thought it would be cool to have one on the west coast.  (Sorry, it’s ugly in my brain.) Not one to wait for things to happen, I called Carnival Cruise Lines.  The terms were great, so I ran it by Mary and she loved it.

The cruise lines are different to coordinate than typical conference hotels. Both Mary and I are committed to having a fantastic retreat, but it will require early registration in order to meet Carnival Cruise Line’s group terms.

If you’re a serious writer and want to take your writing to the next level, please visit Write at Sea for details about the retreat, cruise and registration.
